Yes. Our collectibles packaging is designed and manufactured in the UK, giving you better control over quality, communication and lead times. This is especially useful when packaging needs to be developed around licensed merchandise, limited edition releases, launch dates or stakeholder approval stages.
-
Yes. We can work with your existing brand guidelines and brand assets, including fonts, colours, logos, lock-ups and artwork references. This helps ensure the packaging feels consistent with the wider brand, whether we are creating one box or adapting the design across a wider range of collectibles, replica props, movie props or licensed merchandise.
-
Yes. We can create collectibles packaging across multiple SKUs, helping you keep the range consistent while allowing for different product sizes, formats, editions and variants. This can include packaging for movie props, replica props, figurines, display pieces, collector sets, limited edition releases and licensed product ranges.
-
Yes. We can help with collectibles packaging for both retail and ecommerce. Retail packaging is usually developed around shelf presence, brand consistency, product protection, competitor positioning and required product information. Ecommerce packaging focuses more on protection in transit, the delivery experience and how the product arrives with the customer.
-
Yes. We design collectibles packaging around the actual products supplied, rather than working from guesswork. This helps with presentation, protection and product fit, especially when the range includes unusual shapes, fragile items, display pieces, replica props, movie props or multiple components. We can also design card fitments where products need to be held securely inside the pack.
-
Yes. We can review the structure, material choices and finishes to help make the packaging feel more premium while still considering sustainability. That might include FSC materials, recyclable boards, better fitments, branded sleeves, internal print, foiling, embossing or more considered print finishes.
The right approach depends on the product, quantity, budget and how the packaging will be used.
-
It depends on the type of project. For limited edition releases, collector launches, promotional activity or licensed merchandise campaigns, we can often help with lower quantities because those projects are usually more bespoke and not built around standard retail unit margins.
For retail or ecommerce collectibles packaging that needs to work commercially, quantities are usually in the thousands. The strongest unit pricing tends to come through at higher volumes, depending on the size, structure, material and finish.
-
Our standard production lead time is around four weeks from artwork sign-off, depending on the packaging format, quantity and finish. Before production, we usually create a plain sample for approval, so the structure, size and product fit can be checked before artwork is finalised.
What Matters In Collectible Product Packaging
Collectible product packaging needs to reflect the value of the item while working across different releases, including replica props, licensed merchandise and limited edition products. Some items need a fully custom build, while others suit a more efficient repeatable format. The key is choosing the right approach based on value, volume and timings.
Solid construction to protect products properly
Accurate sizing to hold items securely
Bespoke formats for repeatable packaging across ranges
Custom builds for high-value or specialist products
Fitments tailored to different product types and components
Common Mistakes In Collectibles Packaging
Most issues in collectibles packaging come from choosing the wrong format for the product. This is common with replica props, licensed merchandise and limited edition releases, where packaging needs to match the value of the piece without adding unnecessary cost, complexity or delays.
Going too premium for the product value and increasing cost
Using the wrong format for the product or sales channel
Not allowing enough time for custom packaging development
Poorly designed fitments that do not secure the product properly
Oversized packaging that increases storage and shipping costs

Ryan Carter, Licensing Manager: “We had a tight approval window with the studio, so the packaging for the limited edition release needed to land right first time. I was introduced to Steve through a mutual contact in licensing, which helped. Fantastic Mr. Box focused the direction, adjusted our visuals, and made it easier to get sign-off without rounds of revisions. It kept the whole project moving.”
Packaging Solutions
Sophie Lang, Creative Producer: “The first version we had internally felt overworked and wasn’t landing how we wanted. Someone on our team had worked with Steve before, so we brought FMB into the mix. They stripped it back, clarified the collectible packaging presentation, and gave us something that felt more aligned with the brand. It made approvals and rollout far more straightforward.”
