Why Work With Fantastic Mr Box for Supplement Packaging?

Packaging only works when it is designed around the product and built to perform consistently. We focus on structure, fit and repeatability so your packaging is reliable to pack, ship and open every time. Everything is developed around your products to ensure it fits properly and performs as expected.

We are a UK-based packaging company with over 35 years of experience in structural design, artwork and production. All packaging is made in Britain using FSC accredited, recyclable materials, with a focus on practical performance and consistent results.

  • Stage 1: Send your products and brief

  • Stage 2: Plain sample for structural sign off

  • Stage 3: Artwork setup or supply print ready files

  • Stage 4: 3D visuals for approval

  • Stage 5: Production (typically four weeks)

  • Stage 6: Fulfilment if required

  • Supplement packaging includes both primary packaging, such as tubs, pouches, bottles and sachets, and secondary packaging, such as printed cartons and postal boxes. At Fantastic Mr Box we focus on secondary packaging, used to protect, present and support supplement products for retail, ecommerce and subscription models. Secondary packaging is often used to provide space for branding, nutritional information, barcodes and regulatory details.

  • Supplement packaging is used by supplement and nutrition brands selling through retail, ecommerce and subscription channels. Primary packaging, such as tubs, pouches and bottles, holds the product itself. At Fantastic Mr Box we specialise in secondary packaging, which is designed to fit around the primary product and provide protection, presentation and space for regulatory information.

  • For secondary supplement packaging, materials are paper-based, including carton board for retail packs and corrugated board for postal and subscription boxes. Different board grades are selected based on product weight and required strength. Material choice depends on product type, delivery method and the level of finish required.

  • Supplement packaging can be both premium and recyclable when using paper-based materials. Finishes such as foil blocking and single-sided laminates can still allow packaging to be recycled in many cases. At Fantastic Mr Box we use FSC-certified board to ensure the materials are sourced sustainably.

  • Retail supplement packaging is designed for shelf impact and brand visibility. Ecommerce and subscription packaging is designed for protection during transit and efficient delivery, including letterbox-friendly formats where required. A single solution can cover both, but this often increases cost or requires structural compromise.

  • Supplement packaging is designed around the exact product dimensions to ensure a precise fit and reduce movement. This improves protection during shipping and presentation on arrival. Multiple products can be combined into a single pack with fitments if required.

  • Supplement packaging costs depend on structure, material, print finishes and quantity. Carton board and corrugated packaging are more cost-effective and reduce significantly at higher volumes. More solid, premium-feel packaging increases cost, but similar results can often be achieved through structure and finishes without relying on rigid box formats.

  • Typical lead time for supplement packaging is around four weeks from artwork sign-off. More complex structures or premium print finishes can extend this. Simpler carton or corrugated solutions are usually achievable within this timeframe.

What Matters in Supplement Packaging

Supplement packaging needs to protect the product, communicate trust and remain consistent across different formats and channels. Whether sold online or in retail, it must handle a wide range of products from tubs to sachets while keeping the brand clear and professional. From structure to materials and print, every decision affects durability, efficiency and how the product is perceived.

  • Durable construction to protect products in transit and handling

  • Efficient sizing to reduce wasted space and unnecessary cost

  • Carton board vs corrugate based on protection and volume

  • Print finishes that reinforce brand trust and clarity

  • Internal fitments that hold products securely where needed

  • Consistency across product ranges, formats and variations

Common Mistakes in Supplement Packaging

Most issues in supplement packaging come from early decisions made without considering how the product will scale across different formats and channels. Choices around structure and materials can increase costs, slow packing and limit flexibility as the range grows. Getting this wrong often leads to redesigns just as volumes begin to increase.

  • Starting with rigid packaging too early, making scaling expensive

  • Oversized boxes that increase cost and reduce efficiency

  • Weak structures that do not protect products during transit

  • Poorly designed fitments that allow movement or damage

  • Overcomplicated designs that slow packing and increase labour cost

  • Locking into a format that is difficult to adapt as the range expands

How We Approach Supplement Packaging

Supplement packaging needs to work across retail and delivery while remaining efficient as volumes grow. We focus on getting structure, materials and format right early to avoid costly redesigns. Everything is built around how the product is packed, handled and presented, reducing risk and keeping operations consistent as you scale.

  • Designed around your actual products for accurate sizing and fit

  • Format chosen based on product type, volume and sales channel

  • Carton and corrugate options considered with long term cost in mind

  • Fitments designed for protection and presentation where needed

  • Structures developed for fast, consistent packing

  • Artwork applied once the structure is approved

Aaron Blake, Founder: “We were close to signing off something that looked fine but didn’t really sell the product. A recommendation came through from another founder who’d worked with Steve, so we had a chat. Fantastic Mr. Box pushed us to simplify the direction, tightened the layouts, and helped us focus on what actually mattered. It made the whole thing easier to stand behind.”

Priya Desai, Product Manager: “Retail feedback had been mixed, which told us something wasn’t landing. I’d come across FMB through a LinkedIn post Adam shared and kept it in mind. They reworked how everything was presented, kept decisions grounded, and gave us something the team could agree on quickly. It changed how confidently we could take it back out.”
